Jan 2010 - RES unveil the new AOC 50kW turbine

Renewable Energy Systems Ltd have unveiled the latest addition to their range of products - The AOC15/50  50 kilowatt wind turbine, which is now fully operational at Gurteen Agricultural College. The turbine  will provide the college with more than half of their electricity requirements.   The wind turbine, which has an estimated payback period of eight years, will have an annual electricity output of 150,000 kilowatt hours and will offset over 80 tonnes of CO2 per annum at Gurteen College - Click on link above or HERE for further details on the launch

 Telefonica O₂ in collaboration with RES Ltd wins Pioneering Renewable Energy award 2009

 This is Ireland’s first radio base station to fully generate its own electricity. The tower is powered entirely by a small wind turbine and solar panels with battery storage. O₂ alone have over 2000 such base stations, so the replication potential of this project is very strong. ESB Tariffs

In February 2009 it was announced that the ESB will pay a 19 cent tariff per kW/hr for the first 3000 kW/hrs exported in the year. If  more that 3000 kW/hrs are exported then a 9cent tariff per kW/hr is still available for the remaining electricity exported in the year.
